Janine Scott, MD

“God has given each of us a destiny – something that we were made to do. Medicine is my ministry. It is one way I am able to share my gifts with my community and honor that dream that God has given to me.”

Dr. Janine Scott is a Board Certified Family Physician who practices at the Family Medicine and Acute Care of Sandhills, in Cameron, North Carolina. She is also the Medical Director of the Xubian Acne and Wellness Clinic.  She is currently in her 26th year of clinical practice, but has always wanted to be a physician since the age of 9.  She was blessed to excel in school, culminating in a full 4 year scholarship to the University of Connecticut, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neurobiology, and also receiving a full 4 year scholarship to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree.  She also had the distinct honor of being her Medical School Commencement speaker on the day of her graduation.

Dr. Scott began practice in North Carolina in 1996, and completed her residency through the Duke/Southern Regional AHEC residency program in 1999. Since that time, she has practiced in both the private and government sectors.

Dr. Scott has an excellent standing with patients and has received accolades for thorough explanations of diagnoses and treatments, taking time with patients, and providing comprehensive follow up. In 2011, she was recognized with the Lamplighter Health Outreach Award and earned the Commander’s Medallion for Excellence in Patient Care in 2006.

Janine is also an author of four books: Reflections, Inspirations (devotional books published by Xulon Press), and The Right Prescription; Even Christians Get Depressed (published by Cranberry Quill Publishing).  She co-published a book with her daughters, titled, The Krazy, Kooky Komical World of Kendall and Katrina (also published by Cranberry Quill Publishing).  Janine is also active in the faith community. She has served in various capacities, as God has seen fit.  She has been a Lay Minister, Growth Track Teacher, VIP door greeter, Welcome Team Leader, Guest Services Leader, Outreach Director, and is currently the Prayer Team Leader at her church.  She attends Manna Church, Raeford Site.

For Dr. Scott, her family is her first ministry and is at the center of her world.  She loves to travel, play board games, bowl, swim, read, and is an amateur chef (broccoli and sausage quiche is a favorite). One day, she hopes to travel to the Maldives and brave the skies with tandem skydiving (although, as the years go by, indoor skydiving may be her thing...smile!).
